Morning in the Country

Here's a short acoustic piece for guitars, drums, and sopranos.

All things must pass

Here's an uplifting piece for guitar, piano, drums, and Cinematique's Hammered Violin.

Valet will ich dir geben

Here's an arrangement of JS Bach's Valet will ich dir geben for strings and SATB choir.

Hymn 4/3/20

Some musical thoughts around Easter 2020, for piano.

Postcard from Vienna #2

I wrote this miniature when I was spending a lot of time studying the  music of Alban Berg, especially his piano sonata which is one of the  great piano masterpieces of the 20th century (I think he was 19 when he  wrote it). The music of Schoenberg and Webern never really did much for  me, but Berg really nailed the style. So, you might consider this piece  to be an homage to Berg.

Great Blue Heron

I love Blue Herons - they are a fascinating, solitary animal and we have  had at least one of them living near the pond behind my house for at  least 30 years. At one point, there was a pair living here - they  apparently mate for life. They chase off any other big birds that come  around and "our" Blue Heron ran off a large white egret last summer.  Lately, a bald eagle has been coming around but the heron doesn't seem  to bother it.

Empty Places

This is my corona virus quarantine piece - maybe I'll do some more over  the coming days or weeks. I wrote this yesterday and completed  production this morning.  I have been dying to find a use for  Cinematique's Clashing Rails and Neon Tubes along with Native  Instruments' Una Corda piano and this piece provided the perfect  opportunity.
